Spring Sing 2026 By the Numbers

Now that Spring Sing is officially over, here is the complete breakdown of how each club ranked per the scoring system.

Spring Sing is scored by a committee of four judges. For each show, the judges are randomly assigned one of four categories to judge:

Technicality: This judge scores the cleanness of the club’s lines and synchronization, how difficult the moves were and how well the stage was used. Using distinct moves and executing them well is key to scoring higher than one’s opponents.

Vocals/Music: This category covers how complex the melody was, how the harmonies added to the show, if there was any variety to the music and singing and how clear the voices were. Clubs earn more points by singing eloquently, implementing complex harmonies, and enunciating well so the crowd can hear them.

Performance: This is how lyrics and choreography were judged, as well as transitions between songs/moves and how the characters were portrayed. While technicality and vocals/music already cover the array of moves and how well the performers sang, performance is where the lyrics and choreography themselves were graded.

Originality: This is how the clubs earned points for their costumes and audience appeal, as well as their interpretation of the theme and  overall execution. Getting the crowd behind the show, having a cool costume design and presenting the theme well was how clubs earned points in this category.

This year, four different clubs earned the max score of 100 for a given performance. An interesting note, all 100s were only given out during the Saturday night show. Chi, Gamma, and Kappa all scored 100s for their performance, with Kappa also earning 100 for technicality. Alpha earned 100 for originality. In addition to this, none of the clubs earned a 100 or even a 90 in vocals/music, with Chi’s 89 from Friday night being the highest earned score in the category.

The best individual performance came from Kappa’s Saturday night show, which earned 376 total points. This proved to be crucial to Kappa finishing 3rd overall, as they were averaging a 5th place performance going into Saturday night.

Out of the four judging metrics, no club was carried by vocals. Delta, Freshmen, Kappa, Lambda, and Theta all were the strongest in technicality. Chi’s and Gamma’s performances were what pulled them ahead of the rest, while Alpha and Beta leaned on originality as their strongest category.
