Basketball Intramural Preview

Oklahoma Christian University club intramurals are an essential part of the student body and club life. This semester especially, club totals for the All-Sports trophy are as competitive as ever. Now that Freshman can rush clubs, new players add great depth to most of the clubs.

Last year on the men’s side was led by Carter Neal who helped Chi Lambda Phi win the A league championship. Without him, we will see if any member will be able to step up, and if it will be enough for loaded rosters of the other clubs. For the men’s B league, after the freshman beat Delta Gamma Sigma in the championship by 1 point last year, Delta is ready to get back and get revenge, having had many of the Freshman B league rush their club this semester. But look at Kappa as well to be a fierce competition in that division. As for C league, there are many left wondering who can beat last year’s C team champs, Chi. Hopefully no one gets hurt and the best team prevails.

Teagan Henson of Delta Gamma Sigma and Starting A league player said,

“We are ready to play. We had our first game against Chi and we played well, but we need to keep up our good play and we’ll see who can stop us,” Henson said.

On the women’s side, Lambda Chi Zeta is looking towards the crown once again in all basketball league levels. However, with the addition of freshmen, it could be anyone’s game, including Gamma Rho, who are looking to get back on track in all sports. It has been two of the most competitive years in women’s intramural sports, and it will be pivotal for whichever team wishes to win, to be holding the gold in both A and B basketball leagues.

With the men’s and women’s leagues both in tight races, this basketball season will be tense for all clubs during this time. Those who wish to prevail the victors must remain calm and step up for their teams.
