Intramural standings take shape after competitive fall season

As the fall intramural season winds down at Oklahoma Christian University, both the men’s and women’s club standings are starting to take form. With six sports completed, several clubs have established early leads, while others remain close enough to make a push when winter and spring events begin.

On the men’s side, Chi Lambda Phi holds a strong lead with 488 total points. Their 214 points in flag football and 164 in volleyball have given them a comfortable advantage heading into the break. Kappa sits in second at 388 points, powered by consistency across nearly every sport, including big totals in volleyball and flag football.

Delta Gamma Sigma follows with 319 points,  helping keep them in the mix but with a lot of work to do. The Freshmen team has also made noise with 344 points, highlighted by an impressive 110-point run in softball and strong placement in volleyball. Alpha Gamma Omega currently has 14 points, all from ping pong and pool.

The women’s standings are shaping up to be even more competitive. Gamma Rho  leads the field with 479 points, thanks to dominant outings with 218 points in volleyball, the highest total across all women’s clubs, and 100 points in flag football. Their balanced depth across events has put them narrowly ahead of the pack.

Just behind is Lambda Chi Zeta with 472 points, only seven points back. Lambda earned the top softball score among the women with 140 points and added 161 in volleyball, keeping the race for first extremely tight. Theta Theta Theta sits in third at 197 points, with a strong cross country finish anchoring their fall standings. The Freshmen posted an impressive 244 points, showing promise in volleyball, softball, and overall consistency. Beta Beta Sigma has 27 points.

While Chi and Gamma hold the early leads, past seasons have shown that the intramural landscape can shift quickly once basketball and soccer come in the spring. With several clubs positioned just one strong event away from making a jump, the race for both men’s and women’s intramural titles remains wide open as the competition heads into the second half of the school year.
