As the seniors prepare to end their time at Oklahoma Christian University, they reflected on some of their favorite memories and experiences that made their college years so memorable.

Senior Mattie Baird said one bucket list item every college student needs to complete during their time at Oklahoma Christian is go on a mission trip or study abroad. Sometimes, the best way to enjoy college is by getting away.

“Go on a mission trip abroad or study abroad. It is really important to see other cultures and experience life outside of America,” Baird said.

“On the mission trip side, I think the McAllen Mission trip with Edmond Church of Christ is an amazing experience,” Joey Georgen said. “There’s also a concert venue in OKC called Beer City Music Hall, and they have really cheap concerts there that you can go to at night. It’s really fun!”

Opportunities both on and off campus can shape one’s college experience in meaningful ways. While adventures abroad and local outings create memorable experiences, some of the most rewarding moments come from stepping outside one’s comfort zone right on campus.

“Do something that pushes you outside of your comfort zone. Like go to an event or go to a Bible study and make friends!” Hannah Blair said.

Finding simple ways to enjoy the campus environment can also be just as rewarding. For Connor Hill, one of his highlights was climbing up to the bell tower on campus.

“I remember just kinda doing it one night,” Hill said. “Who wouldn’t want to experience the view from the top of campus?”

“I like being high up off the ground in my hammock,” Couper Kerns said. “When it’s nice outside, I recommend getting a hammock and spending some time outside. It’s peaceful and quiet.”

“Get involved,” Rhone McEndree said. “There’s always something going on on campus and a lot of fun people here. Join a club, go to a worship night, play some intramurals, or join a Bible study.”

Many seniors say involvement helps build lasting relationships and a sense of community during their college years. From adventures near and far to trying new experiences and stepping outside one’s comfort zone, the key to memorable college years is embracing every opportunity along the way.

As graduation approaches, these moments highlight how the college journey is defined not only by achievements, but also by experiences shaping growth, perspective, and character. For many, these final weeks on campus are a time to reflect, celebrate, and complete their remaining bucket list items.
