Do you have Eagles Bucks to spend? As the 2026 spring semester kicks off, student accounts are refilled with the campus currency, which Oklahoma Christian University calls “Eagle Bucks.” Students are free to use Eagle Bucks for food and drinks on campus, as well as at partnering businesses. Yet, many students may not be acquainted with this form of payment nor where they can use it.
What are Eagle Bucks? Like many universities, Oklahoma Christian has university-issued funds for students to use around campus. These funds are usually named after something university related, such as the mascot, hence the phrase “Eagle Bucks.” Other examples of fun campus currency names from other universities are Owl Bucks, Banana Bucks, Blue Bucks, Campus Cash, Brookdale Bucks, and Dining Dollars.
These “dollars” are bound to campus stores, restaurants, and dining halls, as well as a few local partnering businesses. They are dollar equivalent wherever they are accepted.. universities benefit from the on-campus spending as well as local businesses, since students are restricted in their spending, they are required to spend the money at one of the approved places.
Parents and guardians also may favor Eagle Bucks because they can restrict spending to necessities. Most approved partners are restaurants, the university bookstore, and gas stations. Parents who wish to provide their students with money without the risk of unlimited spending have this resource as an available option.
Eagle Bucks are also extremely useful to international students. Exchanging foreign money is a process that most businesses are not prepared to do, therefore, having the option to spend easily is attractive. In addition, an international student may not have a form of transportation, so the location limitations on Eagle Bucks may be the perfect fit.
How do you get more Eagle Bucks? All meal plan options at Oklahoma Christian include Eagle Bucks regardless of where a student is housed. Exact amounts are listed on the Oklahoma Christian website: https://www.oc.edu/student-life/food-options. Generally, apartment meal plans include fewer meals in the campus dining hall and more Eagle Bucks, while residence hall plans include 100 or 150 Eagle Buck increments with more meal swipes.
If students wish to acquire more Eagle Bucks, they can be purchased in ten-dollar increments. This purchase can be done through the MyOC website (my.oc.edu) and requires users to either input card information or invite another individual to pay. The invitation to pay option allows users to send this request to parents, guardians, significant others, and more. Purchasing in bulk allows for up to a five percent discount on Eagle Bucks.
Most importantly, where can Oklahoma Christian students use their Eagle Bucks? Students here may use them on-campus at Aguila Grill or Chick-fil-A Express in the Branch or in the Brew. The off-campus locations include the nearby Jimmy John’s, Sonic, Alfredo’s Mexican Cafe, and OnCue.Eagle Bucks are related to the student’s account at the university and upon requesting to use their Eagle Bucks, they may be directed to input or write down their Student ID number. This number is found on the back of their university-issued ID card and also can be found in the MyOC app under “My Info.” Receipts and alerts of withdrawals will be sent to their email account. The remaining balance on the account can be viewed through the MyOC online website (my.oc.edu).
