- Chickasaw Nation partners with Rosetta stone to preserve language (News9)
The Chickasaw Nation is working with Rosetta Stone, a language learning software developer, to help save the Chickasaw language. Of the nearly 60,000 members of the nation, about 50 are native speakers of the language. Rosetta will formulate 80 lessons in Chickasaw with the first 40 to be released in fall 2016.
- Oklahoma City chooses different streetcar vendor (KFOR)
After failing to meet deadlines and lack of paperwork, Oklahoma City said would not use the lower bidding Czech company to build the streetcars. Instead, the city will use a more expensive American company to complete the MAPS 3 project.
- Joe’s Crab Shack cancels tipping (PBS)
Joe’s Crab Shack announced Wednesday that tipping in many of its restaurants is no longer required. The seafood restaurant chain said servers at several locations would earn hourly wages of $12-14, but menu prices will increase 12-15 percent.
- Chesapeake Energy announces it will not host light display (KOCO)
Chesapeake Energy announced Wednesday that it will not display the annual Festival of Lights on its campus. Instead, the company said it would partner with the Salvation Army and the Oklahoma Food Bank to collect food.
- Oklahoma City Community College offers drone course (NewsOK)
In anticipation of inbound commercial uses for drones, Oklahoma City Community College is offering a two-week course on drone operation. The class is for anyone 16 years or older who wants to fly drones for fun or for a potential career field.
