The Lady Eagles golf team closed out its fall schedule, posting an 11th-place finish at the Dallas Baptist Classic on Monday and Tuesday.
After the first day of play, the Lady Eagles were in 11th place. Because of the tightly packed competitive field of teams, the Lady Eagles’ score of 303 was just 12-shots behind the leader.
Freshman Kate Goodwin and senior Audrey Meisch led the first day of play for the Lady Eagles. Both Goodwin and Meisch posted one-over par 73s for the opening round. This tied both women for 18th among 84 competitors, trailing the leader by five shots.
For the first time this fall, Dana Todd played in the starting lineup for Oklahoma Christian University. She accepted the role by posting a first-round 75, low enough to tie for 27th.
The second day stayed steady for the Lady Eagles – maintaining 11th place in the tournament. Goodwin finished in the highest place for Oklahoma Christian, with her final round five-over 77 – a tie for 24th. Meisch finished one shot behind Goodwin with a final-round 78.
The story of the second day was Allison Sell, who jumped 35 spots to finish tied for 42nd. Sell fired an even-par 72, consisting of six birdies. This was the team’s best score from either day of the tournament.
Other competitors for Oklahoma Christian were Dana Todd who carded a two-day score of 157, tying her for 46th, and India Matthews who finished tied for 75th with her two-day score of 166.
