Stencil reflects on time at OC, “one greeting can change someone’s life”

“I love the kids,” Littleton said. “I have grown attached to them and I just love greeting everyone every morning. One greet can change someone’s life, so that’s what I do. When people have something they are stressed about, we pray about it and I tell them it is going to be okay. This is school, this is college and you are supposed to be stressed out a little bit, because that is part of life.”

“This is a Christian college campus, and ultimately, we believe Christians should be concerned with God’s justice,” Harrison said. “This is a justice issue. Sometimes we can be so wrapped up in what we want that we are not thinking about how there’s a cost to our consumerism. And there’s an unjust behavior that sometimes supports what we demand in our consumerism.”

“My mom was killed in the OKC Bombing, so it is a very personal event to my entire family,” Arthur said. “The marathon has become a family event—we have almost 30 family and friends who participate with us. We have t-shirts made every year, and we have dinner together the evening before and share wonderful memories of my mother.”

“You gain more than you miss,” a reflection on study abroad

After a semester of studying abroad and exploring Europe, Dean of the College of Biblical Studies Charles Rix and a group of Oklahoma Christian University returned to the Oklahoma Christian campus for the spring semester. Seeing firsthand the history of Europe from such a “unique perspective,” being back in the U.S. and at Oklahoma Christian has been a readjustment to some.

“There were really three things that Amy said to us before she passed,” Luke said. ““One, you are not allowed to be mad at God that I am sick, or if I die. He did not cause this. You cannot blame God. Two, I just want this to glorify Him. If I can bless someone or if someone comes to know him from me, then it is worth it,’—and she lived it out. And the third was she didn’t say goodbye. She said, ‘see you soon,’ so we say, ‘See you soon.’”
