“I think each song represents a different part of what makes each season unique.”

Ajaya Macon
Year: Senior
Hometown: Parker, CO
Major: Biochemistry
How do you cope with nerves on stage?
“I’ve been on the stage for most of my life so sometimes I forget that’s what I signed up for until the very second I’m about to go on. One thing that I always do is be in the moment. Sure people are watching but I’m up there to tell a story. If I want that story to be conveyed I have to live it in that moment and truly feel it. This takes all the energy of worrying about what people think and pours it back into the whole purpose of the performance and in turn it gives me a chance to truly enjoy getting to tell that story.”
Would you have pictured yourself being a Spring Sing host a year ago?
“A year ago I was a recent transfer trying to find my spot at Oklahoma Christian. When I saw the hosts for the first time, I knew that was a goal for myself. It looked like so much fun to be able to help the clubs in transition, provide more depth and showcase the talent of Oklahoma Christian’s students. I am just so thankful that I actually was able to make that dream a reality.”
