As the spring semester comes to an end, the new Executive Officers for the Student Government Association for the 2025-2026 school year have officially been voted in. The Talon reached out to the winners of the election to ask what their goals are for the upcoming school year.
First up is SGA’s new President, Elementary Education major Ashtyn Hutchison.

What goals for your position next year?
“One of my goals is to have fun and increase SGA participation. This year alone under Delaney, the weekly attendance doubled compared to last year, and with Admissions going up I know we can increase even more.”
What is one thing you are most looking forward to?
“Honestly I am looking forward to having fun and working with amazing people. Our executive board is stacked and it will be so much fun to get a lot accomplished next year.”
What has being a part of SGA taught you?
“SGA has taught me the importance of valuing my community and serving in a way that reflects Christ.”
Up next Vice-President, Family Science & Human Development major Addie Neal.

Main goals for next school year?
“As vice president, my main goal is to simply serve Oklahoma Christian University. I believe the vice presidential position is a role that should be dedicated to assisting the president in configuring all her ideas, listening to and being a voice for the student body, and implementing creative and fun ideas to support an exciting environment and promote motivation for the students. As much as I interact with the student body, another goal of mine is to be a communicator between all people that SGA works with including faculty, students, and others. Whatever this role will entail this new school year, I will personally have a goal to be ready to jump in and help wherever I can, opening myself up fully to service of the student body and all the circumstances that call for learning along the way.”
What are you looking forward to for next year?
“I am most looking forward to working with this team to make an impact on our campus. Each person on this team loves this school and has the same mindset of asking ourselves how we can help further Oklahoma Christian into not only a better place, but a place of dedication to the Lord, to our studies, to our community, and to our legacy. I am very excited to see the accomplishments we will be able to carry out in the coming school year when we pull all of our ideas together.”
What has SGA taught you?
“SGA has taught me how important it is to pay attention to details. Every event must be tremendously thought out. Every concern must be considered. The smallest of details can make all the difference. Christ-like encouragement does not have to be a grand gesture, but it could be something as simple as writing letters to a team who has a game this week or getting sonic drinks for the music department who has a performance. The love and positive feedback I have felt and seen within SGA is something I am so grateful to have gotten to be a part of, and I am truly humbled to now have the opportunity to help lead our team in these endeavors as well.”
Next on the lineup is Nursing major Chloe Gates as Secretary.

What are your main objectives as Secretary?
“Some of my goals are to help things run smoothly for the other executives and to be the best student representative that I can, as well as bring in more participation from the student body.”
What are you most excited about?
“I’m most excited to be able to use my role as secretary to get to know people from every class and to serve our campus whether that’s through SGA funded activities, encouragement, or just showing up for people.”
What is something meaningful that SGA has taught you?
“One thing that SGA has taught me is how to be the hands and feet of Jesus and take time out of my week to serve others.”
Last but not least is Treasurer and Accounting/Finance major Teagan Henson.

What is your goal as the new treasurer?
“My goal is to keep up the great work by the people who led before me and maybe bring back foam cups.”
What are you looking forward to as treasurer?
“I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the great people of SGA.”
What is an important lesson you have learned from SGA?
“SGA has taught me the importance of communication when working together.”
