The Talon is a media partner alongside NonDoc and News 9 for a public debate between Kelly Hines and Erin Brewer, the candidates for Senate District 47.
The debate is set to begin at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in The Commons room of Francis Tuttle Technology Center’s Rockwell campus, located at 12777 N. Rockwell Ave. in Oklahoma City. The debate will be live-streamed on the News 9 website and Facebook page.
Parking will be located in the “B North” lot and can be accessed through the northern-most entrance of the campus from Rockwell Avenue. Attendees will enter the debate through the Service Careers entrance.
SD47 stretches from West Edmond Road on the north to Northwest 122nd Street to the south, and from North County Line Road on the west to about South Kelly Avenue on the east.
Brewer is the only Democrat in the race, while Hines beat two other candidates in Republican elections during the summer. SD47 is an open seat and the winner of the Nov. 5 election will succeed Senate Pro Tem Greg Treat, whose tenure is ending due to term limits.
