Terrorism in America

 By Caleb Price

If there is anything that the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 has taught us, it’s that we never truly know when life could be nearing its end. At the same time it has served as an unfortunate reminder that this world is full of evil and that the threat of terrorism is still at the forefront of peoples’ minds.

As we draw near to the anniversary of the Boston Marathon attack, I am taken back to the very place I was when I first heard of the bombing. I can still remember the sinking feeling I experienced, reminding me of a time when I had a similar feeling – September 11.

I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing even though I was very young. I remember coming home and watching it on TV, and realizing how serious it was by the looks on my parents’ faces. All across America those faces reappeared when the bombs went off near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

I was living in in Midwest City during the Oklahoma City bombing, and I was living in Aurora, Colo., for the summer when James Holmes shot up the movie theater. I have not been on this earth long, but I have seen more terrorism than I care for. I think that America has been subject to so many acts of terror that it seems as if there is no time in between, which is very sad to me. I can’t imagine what must be going through someone’s head when they see these acts, but I also can’t imagine the sadness that must overwhelm the loved ones those who are killed in terrorist acts.

April 15 is a day that will live in infamy in America forever. We will always remember the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing, as well as each person who has fallen victim to terrorism all across America.
