Oklahoma Christian University students worked to raise awareness for eating disorders during Eating Disorder Awareness Week.
Public schools in the Oklahoma City, OK metro area are closed Monday in anticipation of a classroom walkout, which aims to increase classroom funding and teacher salaries.
“Sometimes, we expect these students to know American culture and often they do not,” Hartman said. “Their parents are often American, but the students grew up in countries other than America and are not completely familiar with many things about American culture—although they look and sound American. We expect them to know things they do not, so this group helps with that challenge.”
In events during and just after Spring Break, the Oklahoma Christian University men's golf team placed fourth in the Broncho Invitational and sixth at the St. Edward's Invitational while the Lady Eagles took first in the Hillcat Classic.
“When you travel and experience other places, your eyes are truly opened to the world around you,” Robinett said. “People joke about the ‘OC bubble’ all the time, but I would argue that the ‘bubble’ a lot of us are in is so much bigger than that. I think many people get trapped inside a ‘cultural bubble’ and forget that there are other ways of doing things. I believe it is so important to get out there and experience as much of God’s creation as you can.”
Over spring break, the Oklahoma Christian University baseball team went a combined 1-8 against the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Lubbock Christian University.
