Eagles fall in Heartland Championship

The Oklahoma Christian University men's basketball team pulled off two upsets on their way to the Heartland Conference Championship, one against second seeded University of Arkansas-Fort Smith 88-79 and the second over St. Edward's University 94-93 before they fell in the championship game 77-57 to Dallas Baptist University.

“All I can say is wow—it is hard to put into words,” Iota Spring Sing Director Jourdan Bruce said. “Knowing that we won first on the 50th year of Spring Sing and our 10th year as a club is a crazy thought, but then again, we put in so much work and so much time to make this possible. Being back-to-back champions feels amazing because we achieved our goal for our club.”

“It has been challenging to determine which college I should be going to after I graduate in the future,” Hagood said. “Since I have family at OC, I thought attending Spring Visit would be a good experience. I am excited to look around the campus again, seeing what all OC has to offer and to meet some other people my age who might someday be my classmates.”
