Eagle of the Week: Nov. 10-16

Jordan Freidenbloom earned Eagle of the Week this week following her game-winning goal in the women’s soccer team’s final game this season against Texas A&M University-Commerce. Freidenbloom, a freshman nursing major, plays center defender. She scored her game-winning goal on a header off a free kick by Caprice King in the 57th minute of play.

Freidenbloom sat down and answered a few questions for the Talon.

What brought you to OC?

I really enjoy the people, everyone is so nice and welcoming. I also love the small classes and being able to have one-on-one help with my professor.

How did it feel scoring the winning goal of the final game of the season?

It felt rewarding. All the hard work, early morning practices, practicing every day—it pays off in the end and feels so good to leave the season on a high note.

What do you want people to know about the women’s soccer team?

The women’s soccer team is so hardworking and never gives up. We love playing and being a team together. No matter the outcome we are still one family. We faced a lot of challenges this season and we never gave up.

How do you mentally prepare for a game?

I always listen to music and just relax. I try not to think too much about it and just play the game I love.

What was your inspiration to start playing soccer?

I started to play when I was four, so not a ton of inspiration in the beginning. As I grew older the love of the game became more evident and it is the only thing I ever wanted to do.

What is your favorite pre-game song?

Run this town by Jay Z, Rihanna and Kanye West.

What is your favorite post-game food?

Qdoba.
