In their second tournament of the spring season, the Oklahoma Christian University men’s golf team took second place in the Las Vegas Desert Classic March 4-6 in Las Vegas, NV.
The three-day, 18-team event saw the Eagles post a final round team score of 298 to finish with a total of 886, 28 shots behind first place winner University of West Florida.
Junior Juan Pallach started the third day by recording six straight birdies heading into the back nine. He finished 1-over-par 73 with a total of 219 in a tie for eighth place.
Junior Cameron Brown was Oklahoma Christian’s top finisher with a final round 75 and a total of 218 to place seventh. Junior Garrett White tied for 20th after shooting 78 and finishing with 224.
The freshman pair of Andres Brictson and Jackson Phillips rounded out the five official competitors for the Eagles. Brictson finished in a tie for 27th at 226 and Phillips tied for 78th with 237.
Senior Chris Karlovich competed as an individual and tied for 87th at 240.
The Lady Eagles took second in the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational at Kicking Bird Golf Course in Edmond, OK March 5-6.
Oklahoma Christian totaled a team score of 628 and moved up two spots up to second place in the 16-team event on their second day with 314.
Sophomore Abigail Rigsby shot a 5-over-par 75 to close out at 149 in a tie for second place in the 95-woman field. Junior Elizabeth Freeman shot a 77 and closed at 157 in 11th and junior Kate Goodwin shot 80 to finish in a tie for 14th at 159.
Sophomore Ashton Nemecek shot 82 to tie for 26th at 163 and freshman Felicity Wittenberg finished one shot back at 164 in a tie for 33rd with a final round 83.
Senior Chase Lucero, freshman Shaley Goad and freshman Taje Woods all competed as individuals. Goad tied for 45th at 168, Lucero finished in a tie for 78th with 177 and Woods tied for 91st at 195.
Both teams will compete again March 12-13 when the men travel to Amarillo, TX to play in the South Central-West Regional Preview and the Lady Eagles head to Wichita Falls, TX for the Midwestern State Invitational.
