Major: Elementary Education

Sport: Softball A Team

Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019: In a close game against the women of Iota Kappa Phi Sunday night, Hawkins connected on several crucial at-bats, recording an RBI to score the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Gamma won the game 6-5.

Q: Why do you enjoy playing softball?

A:“I enjoy playing softball because it is a team sport, but each player gets a chance to shine.”

 

Intramural Male Athlete of the Week

Name: Adam Lair

Club: Chi Lambda Phi

Year: Senior

Hometown: Billings, Montana

Major: Finance

Sport: Softball A Team

Stats:

Sunday Sept. 8, 2019: On Sunday, Chi Lambda Phi’s undefeated A team played against Kappa Sigma Tau and won. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Lair had a diving catch at third base to get a batter out.

Q: What do you enjoy about playing intramurals?

A:“Playing intramurals is fun, because I’ve always loved playing sports, but I was never really good enough to actually play them for real. Intramurals gives me a chance to be competitive again, which I love. Even more than that, I love getting together with my brothers and pushing each other to be the best we can be, win or lose.”
