Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020: After claiming the first seed in the women’s B league, Gamma defeated the fourth seed Theta in the playoffs to advance to the championship game, where they faced the Freshmen women. In the opening play of the game Gordon drained a shot, which set the tone for the rest of the game. After a couple of lead changes in the first half, Gamma claimed the lead in the second and went on to win the championship title. Gordon finished with about 10 points.
Q: What do you enjoy about playing intramurals?
A: “I enjoy getting to release some stress and have fun with Gamma and the other clubs on campus.”
Q: Why do you enjoy playing basketball?
A: “I wanted to get to know and bond with the Gamma members who wanted to play.”
Intramural Male Athlete of the Week
Name: Sam Day
Club: Kappa Sigma Tau
Year: Junior
Hometown: Olathe, Kansas
Major: Social Studies Education
Sport: Basketball C Team

Monday, Feb. 17, 2020: Kappa entered the playoffs in the second seed, and in the first round they battled the men of Chi Lambda Phi. In a game that came down to the wire, Kappa played lockdown defense and scored a key three to win by one point. Day lead the scoring for Kappa with 15 points. After the win, Kappa advanced to the C team championship game.
Q: What is your favorite memory from playing intramurals with Kappa?
A: “My favorite intramural memory was watching Austin Peace knock down a miracle three to help beat the freshmen earlier this season, or beating Chi is always nice.”
Q: Why do you enjoy playing basketball?
A: “I enjoy playing basketball because it’s the most competitive game on earth, and it’s always a fun time.”
