Soccer teams compete throughout first week

This past week both the men’s and women’s soccer teams competed in scrimmages. The women’s team was pitted up against Rogers State University Aug. 29 and Southwest Baptist University Aug. 31. The men’s team played against Richland Junior College Aug. 30

The men’s team came up shy of a win in their scrimmage as Richland Junior College, the 2018 National Champions beat them 1-0 in penalty kicks.

The women’s team played against Rogers State last Thursday and won 1-0. Junior Corina Marin scored the winning goal in the 87th minute. On Saturday, Aug. 31, the team faced off against Southwest Baptist University. Freshman goalie Gabby Goddard saved a penalty kick in the first half, but Southwest Baptist ended up scoring two goals in the second half to beat the Lady Eagles 2-0.
