Major: Public Relations

Sport: Gamma A Team

Q: What position do you play?

A: Safety

Q: How do you think your performance impacted the championship game?

A:  I think that my competitiveness rubs off on a lot of girls and I think that really impacts the energy we have during the games.

Q: How does the team stay motivated throughout games?

A: We love to have fun and get rowdy. We are always joking around and cheering on the sidelines and that really motivates the team.

Q: What does the energy feel like after winning the championship?

A: Obviously after a win like that we are super excited, but there’s also a feeling of relief and contentment that comes with winning the championship.

Q: What was your favorite moment from this football season?

A:  My personal favorite moment was probably getting an interception in playoffs because it was more high stakes and my teammate’s reactions made me feel even more excited about it. The best moment for all of Gamma was definitely winning the championship.

Intramural Male Athlete of the Week

Name: Bobby Chapman

Club: Kappa Sigma Tau

Year: Junior

Major: Psychology

Hometown: Edmond, OK.

Team: Kappa A Football

Q: What position do you play?

A: I play safety and wide receiver.

Q: How do you think your performance impacted the championship game?

A:  I had a few catches that I think kept momentum on our side, but honestly everybody on the team played their best game of the season and I thought that ended up being the difference that got us the win.

Q: How does the team stay motivated throughout games?

A: Most everybody on the team just loves football, so that keeps us motivated. We’re just happy to be playing.

Q: What does the energy feel like after winning the championship?

A: The energy was great after the win, especially since our B team had won their championship a couple hours before, everybody was excited.

Q: Do you think Kappa will use the momentum from winning football heading into the next sport?

A:  I think the win will keep people coming out for intramurals regardless of the sport. It is fun to win the championship so hopefully we can feel that again sometime this year.

Q: What was your favorite moment from this football season?

A:  My favorite moment from the season wasn’t even a kappa game. It was when Delta played Chi. One of Delta’s players went down with a knee injury and both clubs came together to pray for him. It just shows that even among the club rivalry, we come together for the things that really matter. And I think that’s pretty cool.
