What is your favorite part of being a Spring Sing host?

“I have had so much fun getting to know the other hosts and the directors! It’s great to work with such cool people on something that we all love to do!”

Are there any challenges you’ve faced in rehearsals?

“The biggest challenge in rehearsals is the music.  Some of our pieces have challenging harmonies, which takes more time to lock in (especially when we have to be memorized). It’s a lot of work in a short amount of time, but it’s going to come together great!”

Why did you want to be a Spring Sing host?

I thought it was just amazing, and it looks like something that I would love to do one day.”

What song are you most excited for the audience to see?

“I’m most excited for the audience to see the song: Come Alive.”

What is your favorite part of being a Spring Sing host?

“My favorite part of being a Spring Sing host is getting to rehearse with such incredible people every week. I knew a lot of these people before but getting to know them and spending time with them has been so fun!”

What is your favorite song to perform?

“My favorite song we are performing is “Come Alive” from “The Greatest Showman.” “The Greatest Showman is one of my all-time favorite movies. I really enjoy watching it with my dad and singing along to all the songs. I’ve gotten to sing a few songs from it in shows I’ve been in but I’ve never gotten to do “Come Alive” before! I am so excited for everyone to see this one!”

“I am able to perform with other people who are so good at what they do, which allows all of us to have so much fun singing together!”

What is your favorite song to perform?

“ ‘Hooked on a Feeling.’ Nothing like going ‘oogachaka’ and then hearing the whole crowd yell ‘I’ back.”

Jackson Branum

Year: Senior

Hometown: Oklahoma City, OK

Major: Accounting

What is your favorite song to perform?

“My favorite song to perform is “Come Alive” from “The Greatest Showman.” I’m not even a dancer, but the choreo AND music for the song gets me pumped. I love singing that song and our dance for it is so fun!”

What have you learned from being a host?

“I’ve learned that there is a lot more that goes into preparing for the show rather than just getting on stage and singing. From the costume fitting, to the choreo rehearsal, I’ve been a part of different performances/musicals before, but this show specifically I feel like I’ve seen so much more behind the scenes. It’s very interesting and I appreciate all the hard work anyone puts into it!”
