Preview of Bit Club LAN Party

The BIT Club hosts its annual all-night LAN party. It starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 6 a.m. on April 10 in the PEC atrium.

Open to everyone on campus, the event is designed to create an inclusive and social environment where both casual and experienced gamers can participate.

Emily Forster, a senior and president of the BIT Club, said the party will include a mix of popular video games.

“Some of the different games that people like to play include Mario Kart, Among Us, Lethal Company and Super Smash Bros,” Forster said.

Forster explains how the event caters to more than just video gamers.

“There’s also board and card games,” Forster said. “I think we played poker a lot last year.”

Another game at this year’s party could draw in students who do not usually consider themselves gamers.

“One thing that we want to do this year is a Jackbox game tournament, so that one takes very little skill to be able to participate in,” Forster said. “If you’re not a hardcare gamer, a lot of it is like trivia or drawing and things like that that are super easy for people to participate in.”

A certain new game could attract fans of Stranger Things.

“Sometimes there’s Dungeons and Dragons, which is something that we didn’t get to do last year,” Forster said. “I think some people might want to play because of Stranger Things.”

The event will include free food and drinks.

“We order a bunch of pizzas, soda, and all the junk food that you would associate with the night of playing games,” Forster said.

According to Forster, another memorable moment will be the announcement of the club’s new officer team, which will take place at the beginning of the night.

“I like announcing the new officer team because we announce them at the beginning of the party,” Forster said. “It’s the current officers’ last hurrah.”
