Entertainment Brief: April 21

Oklahoma City Events: 

Upcoming entertainment events in Oklahoma seem mild as the weekend begins. 

At the BOK center in Tulsa, American rock band Shinedown will be performing alongside special guests on Monday, April 24 at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here

Two days prior to Shindown’s showing, Oklahoma firefighters will face Oklahoma police officers in the eighth annual Smoke & Guns Charity boxing competition. This event will be showcased by QuikTrip on Saturday, April 22. 

Paycom will host pop singer/songwriter Walker Hayes on April 22, alongside special guests BRELAND and Ingrid Andress.

Foo Fighters Announce New Album: 

Popular rock band Foo Fighters are expecting to release their newest album in lieu of the death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins. 

In a news release, the band said the album will be “following a year of staggering losses, personal introspection and bittersweet remembrances.” 

The album’s title will be ‘But Here We Are’ as “a testament to the healing powers of music, friendship, and family.” 

Earlier this year in January, the band shared a post on Instagram which announced how they would continue despite this loss. The caption read, “Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were – and without Taylor, we know we’re going to be a different band going forward.” 

‘But Here We Are’ is set to release on June 2 with 10 tracks. 

‘Twilight TV Series on The Horizon: 

The popular “Twilight” saga is expected to receive a television series based on the fantasy romance novels by Stephanie Meyer, who will be involved with production. The series will be produced by Lionsgate TV. 

The first book in the “Twilight” series was  published in 2005, while the last three books, “New Moon,” “Eclipse’” and “Breaking Dawn,” were all published in 2008. 100 million copies have been sold around the world since then. 

The saga was then adapted into a tremendously popular film series, grossing over 1 billion dollars and starring Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristin Stewart. 

Details of the series are still to be determined. 

Camila Cabello Fans Rumor Song About Shawn Mendes: 

Pop artist Camilla Cabelo’s latest song lyrics suggest new information about her current relationship status. 

Cabello shared a short clip, via Instagram Wednesday, of her upcoming song, with lyrics supposedly referencing her time at Coachella with ex boyfriend Shawn Mendes. 

Fans used the comment section to share their theories, filling it with their fan-made ship name “Shawnmila”. 

Cabello’s new song comes after she and Mendes ended their two year relationship in 2021. 

Several sources have shared conflicting messages about the couple’s status, leaving fans guessing after seeing video clips of the two holding hands in Santa Monica, California. 

Their status remains neither confirmed nor denied.
