Games to Play Over Winter Break

With the fall semester coming to a close, students will soon be on break and have more free time. Here are some suggestions of what new games are coming out over the break and a long standing franchise that recently got into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. For those who already game often and those who want to get into gaming, these new games offer new worlds to explore, characters to interact with and new stories to experience. 

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

For those who love the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, this game offers a fulfilling experience. Take control of Star-Lord and the other Guardians as they have some unpredictable adventures. Guardians of the Galaxy is priced at $59.99 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch and $69.99 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. 

Shin Megami Tensei V

For those looking for an RPG to sink time into, Shin Megami Tensei V is the perfect title. Set in modern day Tokyo, the player takes control of a high school student who is investigating rumors about demons appearing. After some investigation, the player finds himself alone in the middle of a battle between angels and demons. Shin Megami Tensei V will be priced at $59.99. 

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Pokemon fans have been waiting for remakes of the fourth generation of Pokemon games; now, players will be able to experience their childhood classic from the Nintendo DS in a whole new way. Players will explore the Sinnoh Region once again as they pursue the goal of becoming the Pokemon champion while stopping Team Galactic from using Pokemon to create a new universe. Both versions will be sold separately for $59.99

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach

Five Nights at Freddy’s is back yet again. This time, the player must play as a child stuck in Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex and find a way out without the Animatronics finding them. However, the player will have to use different tools to evade them, making it one of the most suspenseful Five Nights at Freddy’s games. No price has been confirmed for the game, but it can be assumed that it will cost $39.00, since SteelWool’s Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted game was priced similarly. 

God of War

Set in the time of Norse Mythology, Kratos, the God of War from Greek Mythology in this story must trek to the top of the highest mountain of all the realms with his son, Atreus, as they attempt to fulfill the wish of Kratos’ deceased wife. The father and son will have intense trials to overcome in order to reach the top. The game was originally released for the Playstation users, but PC users will finally be able to experience this emotional story when it is rereleased on PC for $49.99. If PlayStation Users are looking to play this for the first time, they can buy it for the PlayStation 4 for $19.99 

Kingdom Hearts Franchise

With the inclusion of Sora in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, fans of the fighting game can experience the complicated story of Kingdom Hearts. In this Final Fantasy and Disney Crossover, join Sora as he ventures through various Disney worlds in pursuit of destroying the Heartless. An all-in-one package on PlayStation 4 is $99.99. However, through the Epic Games store, the 1.5 and 2.5 compilations are $49.99, the 2.8 compilation is $59.99, and Kingdom Hearts III is at $59.99. The Nintendo Switch versions have not revealed a price, but it is possible that the franchise will follow a similar price listing as the Epic Games Store.
