The state of Oklahoma is known for many things––the Oklahoma City Thunder, red dirt roads, the Sooner and Cowboy rivalry, the historical Land Rush––but perhaps the worst, along with the state’s rocky history with Native American peoples, is its monumentally high female incarceration rate.
More and more, Christianity becomes dulled in the monotonous rumble of what is “acceptable” in modern society. Megachurches, pastoral fluff and “feel-good” messages have morphed into what we call the Christian faith. This is the Christianity America so dearly loves. But, it is not the Gospel.
Thank you, George H.W. Bush, not only for your devotion to this country, but for living out your convictions and reminding us all what matters most. You will be missed.

A few weeks ago, the New York Times asked young evangelical readers to tell them about their relationship with faith and politics. Nearly 1,500 readers replied and while each personal story is different, each one has a common denominator: young evangelicals are questioning typical ties between evangelicalism and politics.
