Meet the 2017 Homecoming Nominees

Homecoming nominations annually flood students’ inboxes in search of candidates for the homecoming court. Only seniors are eligible for the crown, but other grade levels and social clubs participate as representatives in the homecoming court.

EYP offers students educational, networking opportunities

“It is one thing to email someone a resume, but it is another to get a personal introduction from someone who knows somebody,” Boydstun, said. “There’s the old cliché, ‘It’s not what you know but who you know.’ That is not completely true, but who you know helps you get through the door and then you can get the chance to show what you know.”

Students spend fall break serving, traveling

“As a senior, I’m starting to view my time differently,” Pipes said. “I've always cherished my fall break trips. I haven't gone to the same place twice, which makes for some really good memories. I think fall break is super important because it's a good time to go places with friends. It's a good, quick break right after midterms.”

Senior uses small acts of kindness to prove he is more than ‘the guy who holds open doors’

“Aaron is a really fun and sweet person,” Sarah said. “He is very friendly and will do whatever he can to make you happy. From him, I think people can learn that it does not take a lot to affect people, so if you want to do something nice for a lot of people, an easy way to start is just by opening a door.”

Westwood College Ministry walks to bring clean water to Zambia

“I participated in the Water Walk initially because I believed it was going to do great things in Zambia, where people struggle to have clean water,” Hose said. “Seeing the dirty water from the lake that we scooped into buckets and carried for miles made me realize that clean water is a privilege that I do not even think about.”
