Get ready for a week of adventure, horror, and music with upcoming movies, seasonal fun and an Oklahoma Christian University concert.
Kick off the week with a little music. The music group Acappella will be on campus as a part of Oklahoma Christian Lectureship. Get Ethos credit, watch Alan Robertson from “Duck Dynasty” and listen to great music. The event is Oct. 4 in Hardeman Auditorium from 5-7 p.m.
Also at Oklahoma Christian on Oct. 9 is the Performing Arts 20th Annual Grand Concert. This event will have the first ensemble concert with performances by the Chorale, Chamber Singers and Collegiate Choir. Come support the music department and hear some great music.
The concert will be held in the Hardeman Auditorium at 4 p.m. and admission is free.
The Oklahoma City Civic Center presents “OKC Dead.” This is an interactive Halloween event bound to make your spine tingle. Escape zombies, solve puzzles with your team and race to find the cure and save the city.
The event will be Oct. 8-31. Each team will have 20 minutes starting at 7 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Two sisters are forced to reunite when their father dies, and they must decide how to handle their stepmother. The two form a business plan, and emotions run high as they try to keep their lives intact.
“The Secret Rapture” will be shown at Oklahoma City University as a part of their Stage II performances. It will run Oct. 8-11 at 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The Pollard Theatre presents the musical “The Color Purple.” Based on the book, this musical is about a woman who finds her strength and the will to overcome adversity in the world. With an unforgettable musical score featuring jazz, ragtime, gospel and blues, it is a story of hope, celebration and a testament to the healing power of love.
“The Color Purple” will be performed at the Pollard Theatre from Oct. 9-31.
Go on a journey to Neverland with the highly anticipated movie “Pan” as it flies into theaters Oct. 9. Peter is taken to the magical world of Neverland, where he will soon find fun and danger. There he will also discover his destiny to become a hero.
The movie stars Hugh Jackman, Levi Miller, Garrett Hedlund and Amanda Seyfried.
Don’t answer the door. The new movie “Knock, Knock” is about a devoted husband and father who is left home alone for the weekend when two stranded young women knock on his door for help. What started as a kind gesture quickly results in dangerous seduction and a deadly game of cat and mouse.
The movie stars Keanu Reeves, Lorenza Izzo and Ana’de Armas.
A young woman grieving for her mother, who was a famous scream queen from the 1980s, finds herself sucked into the world of her mom’s greatest movie. When the two are reunited, they must fight off the film’s maniacal killer.
“The Final Girls” stars Taissa Farmiga, Malin Akerman and Adam DeVine.
