SGA Weekly Update: April 14

The final Student Government Association meeting of the semester took place on April 12.

This meeting marked the first time the newly elected executives led SGA independent of last year’s staff.

As always, the meeting began with the weekly verse and prayer. This week’s verse was Matthew 11:28-30, which was selected as encouragement for students going into dead week and finals.

After the weekly prayer, each member of the 2023-2024 executive team, President Madison Stephens, Vice President Katie McCullock, Treasurer Josh Knox and Secretary Delaney Ward, introduced themselves.

During her introduction, Stephens hinted at a potential theme for next year’s SGA team, highlighting the words “involvement” and “visibility.”

Following the executive introductions, Stephens said a form would be sent out for anyone interested in applying for a place on the SGA Committee Chair.

To close out the meeting, Eagle Eye discussed upcoming campus events. Class officer elections will be held today, and Oklahoma Christian’s third annual Celebration of Excellence will be held on Monday, April 17. Additionally, a possible Candlelight Devo  may be held on April 19.

During prep week, the campus Chick-Fil-A will give away free milkshakes, and this school year’s event timeline will culminate with graduation on April 28.
