SGA discusses policy change

SGA officer elections will occur the week after spring break. Each candidate must have at least a 2.0 GPA and have current involvement in the SGA. Since chapel is no longer taking place, executive candidates will send a brief writing sample and a short video to the student body in place of delivering a speech.

Neil Arter reached out to the SGA about an apartment visitation policy revision proposal. Currently, opposite gender visitation hours in apartments are from 5 p.m. to midnight on weeknights and noon to midnight on weekends. The Student Life office proposal will allow opposite genders to visit from noon to midnight every day.

The Spring Sing philanthropy initiative was successfully completed, raising a total of $7,953.35. President Abigail Kent encouraged senators to apply to direct the project next year.

The SGA reviewed results from a survey sent to the freshman class regarding a change in the social service club rush process. Out of 125 respondents, over half of Oklahoma Christian University’s freshman replied they would not want the opportunity to rush during their freshman year.
