Oklahoma Christian University is the next stop for the Pray for America bus tour that is traveling 5,915 miles in 56 days to visit 50 college campuses.

Today from 3-5 p.m., the Pray for America bus will be parked in front of the Williams Branch Biblical Studies building to pray over Oklahoma Christian.

The National Day of Prayer Task Force began the Pray for America bus tour with the goal to “raise up intercession” for the education system and to promote prayer throughout the United States.

However, the tour does not solely focus on education. There are seven aspects of American life the bus tour highlights in their prayers: church, media, education, government, military, family and business.

The current tour, launched by the National Day of Prayer Task Force, began on Sept. 9, 2015 with their first stop to Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Pray 4 America’s first bus tour was in 2013, and since then the group has covered 43 states, resulting in 9,000 individuals’ decision to give their lives to Christ, according to the Pray 4 America website.

The bus is sponsored by a number of organizations, including YWAM, FCA and Campus Renewal. Pray 4 America also asks individuals to sponsor a mile by donating $9 to the cause, helping cover the cost of the tour. Their goal of $10,000 has not yet been met.

For more information, to follow the bus tour and keep track of their progress, or to sponsor a mile, visit the Pray for America website.
