SGA passes two proposals

The Student Government Association (SGA) passed two previously presented proposals at last night’s meeting.

The first proposal changed the vice president’s role from working as the head of the Activities Committee to heading communications and public relations for the SGA. The second proposal more clearly states “a bylaw proposal shall be presented to SGA by a current senator or executive officer.”

In other actions, Spring Sing Executive Jenni Jones and Student Events Coordinator Amanda Watson, presented the official Spring Sing budget. The total estimated revenue for the event this year is $64,380, with the ticket revenue estimated at $58,380.

All profits made from Spring Sing will come from tickets and ad revenue. The total estimated expenses for the productions are $45,785, and club payouts will sum to $7,000. The SGA will cover any expenses the philanthropy project has.

As head of the Constitution Rules and Revisions Committee, senior Rett Parker presented a new constitutional proposal to add stipulations for the Appropriations Committee in the SGA constitution.

In announcements, the Campus Spirit Committee’s annual Glow Run will occur tonight at 5:30 pm and 7:30 p.m. for the men and women’s basketball games. The first 100 students to show up will receive a free T-shirt.
