Lambda Chi Zeta
After a basketball season with mixed results, it became do or die for Lambda if they wanted to win all sports this year. That is when Anna Strother and Ashley Edwards came in. The pair worked in perfect harmony, going through the competition until none stood against them. Lambda still needs to step it up in the soccer season and ping pong doubles, but thanks to Stother and Edwards, they are right in there.
1. What is it like winning the pool doubles tournament?
Edwards: It feels awesome.
Strother: It feels pretty good, I think next time we need to coordinate outfits.
Edwards: Yeah, we are going to wear sunglasses next time.
Strother: Oh yeah.
2. There was a lot of tough competition and long rounds. What did you girls do to keep the energy up?
Strother: We kind of just played ping pong during our bye rounds and cheered people on, so it was fine.
Edwards: It wasn’t too stressful until we were actually playing, so it was no biggie.
3. There are not a lot of intramural sports left this semester. Will we be seeing either of you play anymore?
Strother: I would have played pickleball doubles, but there aren’t any. So probably not.
Edwards: I will not, I broke my foot.

Ping pong doubles relies on overall depth arguably more than any other sport. You need to be on the same page as your partner in order to come out on top, and Cotter Hensal and Luke Patterson did just that. Hensal and Patterson had an incredibly tough bracket schedule, having to win a play-in round to start before competing against the defending runner-ups from last year.
1. Tell me what it is like being out there winning the bracket.
Hensal: So awesome.
Patterson: Yeah, can’t imagine it.
2. How was this tournament different from the singles tournament last semester?
Hensal: We are better as a team. Kappa has a really good singles player, but we played well, forcing his partner to take shots instead.
Patterson: What he said, we just had the better chemistry.
3. Intramurals is getting down to the wire. Will we be seeing you guys at any more intramurals?
Hensal: Soccer; really excited about soccer.
Patterson: Same, soccer is going to be fun.
