For the first time in Oklahoma Christian University history, a Chi Lambda Phi intramural team is being coached by an all female staff. Read more below.

Gamma Rho’s three to zero win over the freshmen set themselves in a comfortable position going into the playoffs. The team is backed by star playmakers Addie Neal, Katie McCullock, and Natalie Smith.
After having to forfeit their season opener against Theta Theta Theta, Beta Beta Sigma played a tight game against Lambda Chi Zeta, forcing overtime. Lambda’s overwhelming attack at the beginning would prove itself too much for Beta as they finally surrendered a goal, but the roster packs enough potential to turn this less than ideal start into a deep playoff run.
Men’s

Chi B soccer has been making history, as Chi’s first ever intramural team coached solely women. Callie Lewis and Brooklyn Smith have been hard at work leading this team, and while losses to Delta Gamma Sigma B and Kappa Sigma Tau A leave some to be desired, the team is holding their own. Smith and Lewis both were excited for this opportunity.
“It’s been so fun, I love Chi and they’re so kind,” Lewis said. “And they said I make good cookies.”
“I think it’s pretty exciting,” Smith said. “Looking forward to a great season and a great roster.”
Meanwhile Delta A soccer has been off to a strong start. After getting a quick win over Alpha Gamma Omega, they beat Chi A in a tight one to zero win before beating Kappa A five to two. A showdown between the freshmen and Chi ended up favoring the freshmen in a final score of one to zero.
In the one B team vs B team matchup of the year, Delta beat Chi by a score of five to two. A hattrick from Jack Britton put the game out of reach and shows A teams like Delta and Kappa may get a little competition from these B team games.
Women’s Intramural Athlete of the Week: Holly Grimes (Lambda Chi Zeta)

Doubling as one of the best defenders in the league as well as one of the best dribblers, Holly Grime’s leadership earned Lambda their 2-0 record so far. Winning the ball over top team’s forwards and getting it to her teammates is her specialty, and something opponents will need to find an answer for in upcoming games.
First Runner Up: Natalie Smith (Gamma Rho)
Simply put, Gamma’s offense is a force to be reckoned with, spearheaded by star player Natalie Smith. Having already scored, Smith’s speed and strength overwhelms defenders once she gets into the box, and her nose for the goal is a factor that all teams have to gameplan for. Expect Smith and Gamma’s high scoring offense to keep building momentum this season.
Second Runner Up: Marissa Powell (Lambda Chi Zeta)
Transitioning from softball to soccer does not seem like a pipeline destined for greatness, but Marissa Powell has found her home in the net as Lambda’s goalie. The former first/third baseman packs lightning quick reflexes along with agile movement, giving up zero goals in her first two games. Like all teams early on in the season, Lambda is still finalizing their plan to fix all the little quirks, but figuring out how to prevent goals from being scored is hardly an issue while Powell is in the net.
Men’s Intramural Athlete of the Week: Isaac Buffaloe (Delta Gamma Sigma)

Having a defender who can double as a skilled ball handler and is lethal when shooting is something every club dreams of having- thanks to Isaac Buffaloe, Delta has just that. His goal against Chi gave them the lead and his defense has kept multiple offenses in check. With Buffaloe to contest attacks before they get into the box, no shot will be an easy point against Delta.
First Runner Up: Jack Britton (Delta Gamma Sigma)
After a dominating performance over Chi B, Jack Britton has set himself up as a star in the B league. His hattrick over Chi set the tone for his style of play, and Delta B will be looking at him to continue this performance for the rest of the season. Most stars take control in the A league, but everyone needs to fear the B league striker known as Jack Britton.
Second Runner Up: Jack Brookshire (Delta Gamma Sigma)
Having to fill in at the last minute for goalkeeper, Jack Brookshire picked the position up like a natural. Only giving up one goal against a more experienced Kappa offense, Brookshire did his job, recording three saves. It is to be determined how long Brookshire will stay as starting goalie, but Delta can rest easy should he need to step up again.
