The Student Government Association met on Sept. 28 for their weekly senate meeting. The meeting focused on the monthly rundowns of committee reports and upcoming events from Eagle Eye.
The Academic Committee ran through its reports from the past month. The committee spoke about potential ideas to incorporate for the coming months, such as departmental spotlights, promotion of the Student Success Center and a potential GPA award to students.
The Activities Committee recognized their accomplishments over the past month, such as the Organization Fair and Date Week. The committee brainstormed ideas for upcoming events, including more food trucks, a Pumpkin Festival, Free Brew Drinks and additional funding ideas.
The Campus Improvements Committee went over their ideas for Campus Improvement projects, which included potential tetherball courts, water filters throughout campus and improvement to the Warlick and Fails dormitory kitchens.
The Spiritual Life Committee brainstormed ideas for how to incorporate more candlelight devos and how to sponsor free Bibles to students who do not have access to them. They will continue to search for new opportunities to spread spiritual growth to all students.
Eagle Eye presented their upcoming events, which included the Choral Concert on Oct. 9 in the Conservatory at 2 p.m., the upcoming fall break over Oct. 13-14 and the concert in the Forum featuring Chris Renzema at 7 p.m. Free tickets for this concert are available in the Garvey Center box office for all students interested.
