Quail Springs Mall has potential plans to welcome a two-story storefront of the Swedish clothing retailer H&M.

According to NewsOK, a building permit was filed for a 22,713-square-foot store that would be located on the north end of Quail Springs Mall between Dillard’s and Macy’s.  This new addition will be accomplished by converting several current storefronts, including the elimination of the Disney Store, Francesca’s Collections and Ruth’s Christian Book Store.

H&M sells trendy clothing for both men and women and is known for affordable pricing.

Business Professor Jeff Simmons said he thinks H&M hasn’t come to Oklahoma City sooner because of the size of the city.

“They probably have not come until now probably because we are too small of a market,” Simmons said. “They are probably coming here now because we have such a big growth market. But of course Oklahoma City is growing a lot itself but they probably haven’t come before because we just haven’t been big enough.”

Freshman Hayley Plaster said she visits the Tulsa H&M regularly and said she was looking forward to the company’s expansion to Oklahoma City.

“I’m really excited for it to come,” Plaster said. “I will probably spend my entire paycheck there.”

Sophomore Jade George said she has been waiting for the retail store to find its way to Oklahoma.

“I have grown up here my whole life, and I mean we have some great stores but we have never had an H&M,” George said.
