Spring Sing philanthropy project announced

At last night’s Student Government Association (SGA) meeting, senators discussed executive positions and the Spring Sing philanthropy project.

Senior Ashley Cannon is the head of the Spring Sing Philanthropy Committee. This year, the committee chose to support New View, a non-profit in Oklahoma City committed to empowering those with vision disabilities and blindness.

In addition to the annual silent auction during Spring Sing shows, the team will host fundraising nights every Tuesday in February at different restaurants to raise money. These will take place at McAlister’s Deli, Jason’s Deli, Blaze Pizza and Panera Bread.

With executive elections right around the corner, each officer described their position to attendees. In order to run for one of the four positions, the student must have participated in the SGA for at least a semester and have a 2.0 GPA or higher.

The meeting, which previously took place at 9 p.m. in the business building, now takes place in the Duncan room next to the cafeteria.
