Weekly COVID Update

On Monday Oklahoma saw a record number of COVID-19 hospitalizations with 821 with 319 of those in the ICU, also a record high.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt is set to hold a press conference Tuesday afternoon to address the rise in COVID-19 hospitalizations.

Among Oklahoma cities Edmond is ranked fifth in total confirmed cases with 3,646. Edmond also has reported 25 COVID-19 related deaths. 

Edmond is a part of Oklahoma County which is currently in the orange color-coded area

Oklahoma Christian University has reported 4 current active cases on campus as of Oct. 19. There are also 18 students in quarantine or isolation. There have been 125 total COVID-19 cases since July 31.

According to Risa Forrester, Oklahoma Christian’s chief communication officers, IMMY Labs – our campus COVID testing partner – is expanding testing and will add a Friday testing option on campus beginning this Friday, October 9 (7 a.m. to 1 p.m.).
