If I would not have come to OC

When I look back at the time that I have spent at Oklahoma Christian, I realize just how many friends I have gained and memories I have enjoyed in four years. In hindsight, it is almost scary to think what my life would be like without all these people in my life.

I cannot imagine how I would have spent my Saturdays if it were not for my friends here at OC. I wonder what I would have done instead of going to the Nest to watch the Eagles play basketball – I would have missed John deSteiguer’s half-court shot. If I had never come to OC, I would never have played campus golf, or Frisbee golf for that matter. I would have never sat in the Caf with my friends and drank an Icee. I would have never gone to midnight breakfast, never would have seen people joust in the Commons and would have never been forced to run in the Holiday Hustle for extra credit.

Had I not have come to OC I would not have communicated with an astronaut while he was in orbit. I would have never been to the Lighting of the Commons or walked around campus at Christmas time when the clock tower switches from red to green. I would have never gotten the chance to go to New York City with the business department. Believe it or not, that was also my first time to fly on a plane, which would not have happened if I had not come to OC.

I have had an opportunity to coach at Putnam City West High School this year. That would not have happened had I attended school somewhere else. I would not be weeks away from receiving a business degree, I would not be walking around with a great many friends and I would not have so many memories. Looking back, I am sad, but I am also thankful for having spent four years at OC.
