Too Old for Office: Poll on President’s Age

President Biden’s mental fitness has come under overwhelming scrutiny after a report from Special Counsel Robert Hur.

The report’s description of President Biden’s image has called into question the Commander-in-Chief’s ability to execute the most powerful office in the country.

Special Counsel Robert Hur issued a report on the investigation into the handling of classified documents after sensitive U.S. material was found at President Biden’s private residence in Delaware, the University of Delaware and the Biden family’s think tank: the Penn Biden Center of the University of Pennsylvania in Washington, D.C.

All was normal in the report until the Special Counsel commented on how President Biden presented himself in an interview with the Counsel and how he would most likely present himself if placed before a jury.

“We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” according to the Department of Justice’s Special Counsel report.

The report goes on to state a jury would have a hard time convicting President Biden of a crime that required a mental state of intention, indirectly stating Biden contained little mental state to even have an idea of purposefully retaining sensitive U.S. documents.

“It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him–by then a former president well into his eighties–of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willingness,” according to the report.

Since the report has been made public, the Special Counsel’s comments have caused many Americans to further question President Biden’s mental capacity.

Concerns about the president’s mental fitness have been circulating ever since the Delaware native entered the White House after the 2020 Presidential Election.

ABC News, in partnership with Ispos, has issued a poll to the American public, gathering data on whether the nation thinks Biden is fit to properly execute the duties of the president of the United States.

Overwhelmingly, a large majority of Americans have decided the Special Counsel report has all but confirmed President Biden is too old for the Oval Office.

“According to the poll, which was released Sunday after being conducted Feb. 9 and 10…86 percent of Americans think Biden, who is 81, is too old to serve another term,” according to Politico.

The accusations against the sitting president seem to have dealt the Biden campaign and the Biden administration a hard hit. Biden’s campaign officials have been doing everything they possibly can to undermine the report’s credibility.

“The poll is the latest blow to the Biden campaign, which has been working feverishly to dispel the notion that Biden does not have the capacity to effectively serve out another term after Hur’s report provided a withering assessment of the president’s mental acuity,” according to Politico.

To dampen the Biden campaign’s efforts, former White House doctor Rep. Ronny Jackson stated the report only confirmed President Biden is mentally unfit to be president.

“‘It validates what most of us have known … I’ve been saying since he was candidate Joe Biden that this man is not cognitively fit to be our president, our commander in chief and our head of state. I’ve been saying that over and over,’” according to Fox News.

Jackson even expressed President Biden’s entire persona has changed over the years, contributing to the notion Biden is not well, cognitively.

“‘I watched the man every day, you know, in and around the West Wing for eight years when he was vice president. There’s a drastic, drastic difference between then and now.

‘Go back and look at the videos from whenever he was first vice president and compare them to now. It’s not even the same person,’ Jackson added,” according to Fox News.

As Americans formulate their opinions on how fit they think Biden is for office, the Biden campaign may have to do the most it ever has to convince the public of the Commander-in-Chief’s mental stability.

One thing is for sure, the last few days may have caused November 2024 to shift more than America might have expected.
