Oklahoma Christian University’s baseball and softball teams are coming together – in costumes – to help make wishes come true in an annual charity game.
The Halloween Charity Game is a slow-pitch softball match between the Eagles baseball and Lady Eagles softball teams. The game focuses on collecting donations for the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Senior Kelsie Finch said she would be in costume on field — dressing up as farm animals with a group of teammates.
“It’s always fun seeing all the costumes,” Finch said. “I really enjoy the games – they are very laid-back and fun.”
During the game, donation buckets are passed through the crowds in the stands to collect money for Make-A-Wish, a charity striving to give hope to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Oklahoma Christian students and the local Edmond community are invited to attend the game. Oklahoma Christian will give candy to children who dress up in costume.
This Halloween-themed event is an annual tradition and 2015 marks its third year.
The game will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Lawson Softball Complex.
