Name: Rachel Parrett

Club: Iota Kappa Phi

Year: Senior

Hometown: Oklahoma City, OK

Major: Family Science/Human Development and Vocational Ministry

Sport: Swimming

Wednesday, Jan. 30:Parrett participated in the women’s swim meet for Iota Kappa Phi Jan. 30. She swam the 25, 50 and 100-meter freestyle, 25 and 50 backstroke, 25 breaststroke and the relay. Parrett placed in the top three in each of the events. Her club, Iota Kappa Phi, won the swim meet, earning 50 points.

Q: Why did you want to participate in the intramural swim meet?

 A: “I’m not very good at land sports, so I really enjoy the swim meet.”

Intramural Male Athlete of the Week

Name: Sam Bogan

Club: Alpha Gamma Omega

Year: Senior

Hometown: Colleyville, TX

Major: Bible with a minor in Family Science

Sport: Basketball B Team

Stats:

Tuesday, Jan. 29: Alpha Gamma Omega’s B team played Psi Epsilon Jan. 29. Bogan connected on five 3-pointers during the game.

Q: What do you enjoy about playing intramurals?

A: “It’s a great time to have fun with your brothers in club, and it is also an amazing opportunity to reflect Jesus to your teammates and the other club you are playing. I also love how we end each game with a prayer. It’s a great reminder of how, even though we are a part of different clubs, we can still be unified.”
