To strengthen relationships between predominantly Caucasian and predominantly African American church congregations, the United in Christ organization held their cross-congregational event, Unity in Love, Dec. 3 in Oklahoma Christian University’s McIntosh Conservatory.

“To me, the campus just keeps getting better and better,” Jones said. “OC has a lot of great traditions we do that builds a legacy of carrying on what others have done before us. Last year, Dr. Harold Fletcher passed away. He always came to Cocoa and Carols and Kent Adams followed in his footsteps, and I’m hoping to follow in footsteps before me.”
“Whether you come from any kind of faith background or no faith background, you can experience this as an important part in human history,” Blanchard said. “No one can deny that the Bible has been an import part of human history, but to have such a prominent and sophisticated museum right in the heart of the nation’s capital, it’s a really phenomenal investment by that family. I know they poured a lot into it so it is exciting.”

To celebrate the beginning of the holiday season, Oklahoma Christian University held its annual Lighting of the Commons last night, Nov. 28, complete with fireworks, hot cocoa, a visit from Santa Claus and a Christmas market.
“At our meetings, we try to bring in local politicians to speak so they can update us on the local news and local races,” Stanglin said. “We announce our meetings on Twitter and in the student announcements, so keep an eye out. They are really fun, and Gary Lindsey always brings really good desserts.”
“It is a very rewarding profession, but it is also just a profession,” Cail said. “You can’t lose sight of your family and faith. Enjoy your youth and experience at Oklahoma Christian. It equips you well to serve others on a grand scale if you use those gifts wisely.”
