Oklahoma Christian University students have the opportunity to support alumni, as Matt Stansberry and the Romance have discounted ticket prices to their album release concert on Saturday.
Matt Stansberry, a 2004 Oklahoma Christian alumnus, and faculty member John Fletcher are two of nine members of the retro soul, funk, pop-rock band, which has performed with Lake Street Drive, Gary Busey and Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men. The group recorded a PBS special earlier this year at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, TN where Elvis, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis launched their careers.
The group’s new album, “Future Love,” was recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN and will release Saturday. In celebration of the album’s release, the band will perform with special guest Bryce Merritt at the historic Tower Theatre on 23rd Street. Doors will open at 7 p.m., with the show starting at 8 p.m.
Stansberry has made discounted tickets available to the Oklahoma Christian community, which will be available for $5 in the Student Government Association office. All tickets purchased will also receive a free download of the “Future Love” album.
Following their performance at the Tower Theatre, the group will travel to Kansas City, MO and San Antonio, TX to continue their album release performances.
