Coffee, music and ice cream—you can get it all tonight from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the second annual Brew Bash.
“Brew Bash is a way to get the [Oklahoma Christian University] community to come together and kick off the year,” junior and event organizer Olivia Bryant said. “This will help get the freshman in the Brew and allow them to meet new people while having a good hangout.”
Bryant drew inspiration from last year’s event coordinator, Madeline Roseke. This year’s event will feature even more performers and food options.
“I talked to the event planner from last year, and she said it was an outstanding event, so I decided to continue it,” Bryant said. “There will be three different singers: Jesse Garner, JD Martin and Tucker Fuller. There will be a little ice cream bar with toppings, syrups and all that stuff. You can come and get ice cream, enjoy it, listen to music and hang out with your friends.”
Performing at Brew Bash for the first time, Fuller has an idea of what the concert means to him.
“Brew Bash is a night of music and fellowship at the hottest spot on [Oklahoma Christian’s] campus, the Brew,” Fuller said. “I am really excited to perform. JD Martin and Jesse Garner are also performing, and I get to open up for them and kind of set the stage for them.”
In addition to the individual performances, there will also be a special concert with all three singers performing a song together.
“JD Martin and Jesse Garner have a really cool sound, and I get to play a song with them,” Fuller said. “I am really looking forward to that because they have a groove going, and I think they are going to kill it.”
Fuller’s debut EP will drop Friday, Sept. 13, and people at Brew Bash will have an opportunity to hear those songs first.
“I will be playing at tops eight songs, so about a thirty-minute slot,” Fuller said. “I will be playing some songs that I have not recorded or released, and then I have some that are about to be released the next day.”
The vibes of music will vary from the singer-songwriter style of Garner and Fuller to the deep country style of Martin.
Brew Bash is free to attend.
