CBS announced on Monday the Starship Enterprise would voyage once again in a new “Star Trek” TV series to debut in 2017. The series would feature a new crew and explore contemporary themes. The original “Star Trek” series ran on NBC from 1966 to 1969.

The Oklahoma Tax Commission closed 15 Church’s Chicken locations in the Oklahoma City and Tulsa areas due to unpaid sales tax. According to the tax commission, the owner of the restaurants owes the state $434,583.78 in overdue tax and interest.

A herd of goats is keeping the landscape around Lake Hefner trimmed. Oklahoma City purchased 24 goats for $3,800 at auction. Last year, the city tested how well the animals could eat away brush in the Lake Hefner Canal with a herd loaned from Langston University.

The driver of the car that plowed through a crowd of people in Stillwater on Oct. 24 was charged Wednesday with four counts of second-degree murder and 46 counts of assault and battery. Prosecutors are seeking if the accused driver, Adacia Chambers, is competent to stand trial.

Metrojet Flight 9268 went down over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on Saturday, killing all 224 people on board. U.S. officials suggested that intelligence points to ISIS or an affiliate operative could have planted a bomb on the Russian plane. Russian and Egyptian authorities say there is not enough evidence to support the theory.
