SGA discusses date week, Homecoming

At last night’s Student Government Association meeting, attendees looked over campus announcements and listened to a funding request.

As part of their senior capstone, engineering students Caysan Lytal and Ethan Loyd presented on behalf of the Baja team. The team plans to build a small vehicle and compete with it this April in Arizona.

According to the students, the team hopes to place in the top 40 of all competitors. While most large schools have a budget of $80,000-100,000, Oklahoma Christian University has a total budget of $17,000. The team requested $2,500 from the SGA, 14.7% of their total budget. The request passed.

The Homecoming play, The Little Mermaid, will be free for Oklahoma Christian students tonight. Homecoming basketball games will take place in the Nest starting at 1:00 p.m.

This Saturday, Nov. 2, from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the University will host a sneak peek for the new cafeteria.

Date week will begin on Monday, Nov. 11, and will include activities such as a movie night,  painting, ice skating and the Luther Pecan Festival. SGA senators are currently designing long-sleeve Comfort Colors T-shirts.
