SGA holds committee reports

The Student Government Association (SGA) voted on a by-law and held committee reports at last night’s meeting.

The campaigning by-law proposal presented last week added digital and social media campaigning to the general guidelines. While campaigning material no longer requires screening, it must be appropriate. The by-law passed.

According to the Academics Committee chair, Seth Parker, a rough draft of syllabus requirements for the timeliness of grading is in the works. The committee continues to meet with Scott LaMascus weekly.

In addition to Adulting 101, which will occur today at 11:30 a.m., the Activities Committee has more activities planned for the remainder if this semester. After the Celebration of Excellence on Monday, April 8, students can look forward to the Arcadian Wild concert, finals resort and the annual Easter egg hunt.

According to Appropriations Committee Chair Hunter Cabe, the SGA has a little over $14,000 to spend this semester.

The Campus Improvements Committee has plans to hang flower baskets around campus, construct larger basketball and volleyball courts in the apartments and add Eagle Bucks to new restaurants.

The Campus Spirit Committee will hold a T-shirt giveaway and cookout at the pink-out softball game this Saturday, April 6. Follow the Campus Spirit Committee on Twitter and Instagram to participate in upcoming giveaways. The committee will also provide cookies at the upcoming music department concerts.

The Healthy Living Committee recently had a concrete pad for an on-campus recycling bin laid. While the committee does not have the bins yet, students can expect on-campus recycling for next semester.
