After beginning their season with a 20-point exhibition win against York College, the Lady Eagles stand winless through the first three games of the season.

Oklahoma Christian University recorded a double-digit loss to cross-town rival University of Central Oklahoma on Tuesday, with a final score of 63-51.

The Lady Eagles could not work up a run strong enough to overcome the early lead set by UCO and scrambled to keep pace with the Lady Bronchos.

Senior Sydney Hill said she is dissatisfied with her team’s play right now but she said she realizes it is early and her team is moving on. “I am a little disappointed that we have lost the past three so early,” Hill said. “But we just have to get some of our new girls acquainted with the system and we will be fine moving on. We just have to keep working.”

Hill led the Lady Eagles in assists, contributing three. Sarah Parker led the team with 19 points, followed by McKenzie Stanford’s 12.

Oklahoma Christian was on top during only one possession in the game – the 4:15 mark of the first quarter, 6-4. After that the Bronchos maintained the lead the rest of the game, holding on for the 63-51 victory.

Hill said she believed her team would recover quickly in order to face Southwestern Christian University. “We have one day in between games, so we really have no choice but to put this behind us and move on and be ready to try and win a game Thursday night,” Hill said. “We’re not hanging our heads, we will get back in practice and we will work and be ready to play.”
