Entertainment Update: western music, dinosaurs and boxing

Western sounds, Christmas spirit and movies are making their way to Oklahoma City.

Get ready for a little bit of western culture. “Wild, Wild West” is a musical exploration of western heritage with iconic country music from Oklahoma natives, trail rides and much more. Take a Sunday off to get dressed in Western wear and have some fun.

“Wild, Wild West” will be held at the Civic Center on Nov. 22 at 2 p.m.

Kick off Thanksgiving break with a bit of holiday cheer. “Cirque Dreams Holidaze” is a different kind of circus show with a Broadway musical and a Christmas spectacle all in one. Going on its seventh year of touring, do not miss the hit of the season.

“Cirque Dreams Holidaze” will be held at the Civic Center on Nov. 24 at 7:30 p.m.

Andy grew up in a Catholic family, has a disabled brother and is engaged to a Jewish woman. When he brings his fiancée to his parents for the holidays, his brother, who can only say “Oh boy” and “Wow” suddenly blurts out the word “Greetings!” Do not miss the Carpenter Square’s last performance of the year.

“Greetings” will be staged at Carpenter Square on Nov. 27-Dec. 19.

Disney and Pixar bring in their latest film, “The Good Dinosaur,” about what would happen if dinosaurs were never wiped from the earth. An Apatosaurus, Ario, becomes friends with a human boy and together they go on a journey as Ario confronts his fears and discovers his true capabilities.

The Good Dinosaur” features the vocal talents of Jeffrey Wright, Frances McDormand, Raymond Ochoa and Sam Elliott. The movie hits theaters on Nov. 25.

Told from Igor’s point of view, see what happened to the troubled young assistant as he develops a friendship with medical student Viktor Von Frankenstein. Watch as Frankenstein makes his monster and as Igor tries to save Frankenstein.

Remember Rocky? Watch as the heavyweight champion mentors Adonis Johnson, the son of his late friend and rival, Apollo Creed. Follow Johnson’s journey as he goes out under the shadow of his father to become a fighter.

A man married to an artist suddenly becomes a poser for her female paintings. During this time he starts to realize he is meant to be a female. Love triangles and frustrations ensue as what was once a happy marriage falls apart and a man finds himself drawn to become a female. Based off the book, “The Danish Girl,” is about a man becoming a woman.

The Danish Girl” stars Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne, Alicia Vikander and Tusse Silberg.
