Hanna Hodge

Theta Theta Theta

At the start of the semester, I mentioned some athletes from each club that would need to step up if they wanted to contend. But one name I missed was Hanna Hodge. Hodge was everywhere Theta needed her to be in the upset win against Gamma Rho — putting up shots, collecting rebounds and stealing the ball back. Hodge also stepped up this week in the free throws competition, proving her worth as a valuable asset to Theta’s team. If Theta wants to succeed, expect to see Hodge continuing this high level of play.

1. What is it like competing with Theta in intramurals?

It’s so much fun. These girls are everything to me, so it’s just fun to get to play with them.

2. What is it like starting the season with not only an upset win, but against the defending champions and heavy favorites, Gamma Rho?

We just had fun. We had to talk to each other and communicate. I think all that matters is that we were having fun out there, and it was really exciting to get that win.

3. Are there any other matchups you are looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to playing the freshman. I’ve heard they’re pretty good, and it’s always interesting to see how the freshmen are because you never know.

Emmanuel Haba

Freshmen

Last year, the freshmen boys won the B league championship through athleticism and great ball control. Emmanuel Haba embodied that same team this week, earning the title of intramural athlete of the week. Haba led the scoring with 19 against Delta and was key to putting pressure on Delta’s long shooters. Haba is a force to be reckoned with, so if coaches want any chance of stopping the freshmen team, they need to start game planning around him.

1. What is it like on the court, playing basketball with the other freshmen?

It’s good; basketball is all I play, and we all play together everyday. It was fun out there.

2. Do you have any matchups down the season you are looking forward to?

Nah, I’m ready. I’m good with anyone, and I’m gonna win.

3. What are your personal goals for this basketball season?

I just want to play and win as a team and have fun out there. Let’s get it.
